Year Wrapped 2025

Onwards and Upwards, that was the motto we flagged off our year with. We kept our promise of being the trusted support system for every
animal, offering world-class care driven by compassion & integrity.

We inaugurated the Peppy & Ginger Wing, built on the pillars of progress, compassion, scientific care, and unwavering service. This facility is equipped with modern infrastructure, advanced diagnostics, and a dedicated team of veterinary professionals and caregivers. It now enables us to deliver lifesaving treatment and rehabilitative care to domestic and wild animals across the Thane district.

We reached out to 18258 animals including 406 wild animals and birds in the year. 2885 animals were inoculated. 241 were desexed under our Neuter is Cuter programme and 279 critical surgeries were carried out successfully.

For the sixth consecutive year, we were proud to receive the Guidestar India Champion Level Platinum Certification, placing us among the country’s
most credible NGOs after a rigorous due diligence process.

We also wrapped around our wings a fledgling ideation “PAWDOPT”. It rescued 145 dogs and cats from being abandoned and found Forever Homes for them. Together in future, we will rescue, rehabilitate and rehome abandoned pet animals who faced neglect and hardship.

We extended our mission to the environment through an afforestation initiative “RootRevive” designed to restore forests and renew small wildlife using the Miyawaki method.

Our Operations Manager integrated technology in our day to day activities to revolutionize record keeping and modernise the way we treat animals. His vision for the future is to enhance operational and HR efficiency through innovative digital solutions, strengthen interdepartmental communication, ensuring seamless coordination across teams.

But its not just our achievements that make us smug when we look back. We are an integral part of a system that influences welfare in animal kingdom. Every small achievement anywhere in the world is our pride.

World Animal Day celebrated 100 years, and with its “Save Animals, Save The Planet ” theme, emphasized the link between animal welfare and planetary health, honoring figures like pioneer vet Dr. Mangala Gunatilake. Brazil enacted a ban on selling animal-tested cosmetics, while global campaigns pushed to end lethal dose testing. The U.S. saw a major shift towards cage-free eggs (over 42% of supply) and the AVMA updated its policy to favor group housing for sows over gestation crates. Pandas and the green sea turtle returned from the brink of extinction. Norway became the first country to achieve near zero deforestation rates. Canada prohibited keeping of large great apes and elephants in captivity. Several humans invented methods to clan our oceans of plastic and other wastes.

Now is the moment when we begin celebrate the shift towards positive with the world’s holistic, interconnected, and proactive approach to animal welfare, pushing for systemic change and the recognition of animals as sentient beings with a right to a good quality of life. There is a definite silver lining around the corner. Happy New Year to all of us who took part in the change for the better.
