Not to hurt our humble brethren,
Is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough.
We have a higher mission:
To be of service to them whenever they require it.
As the Financial Year 2024-25 came to an end, and while we were still swaying to the tunes of brilliant songs of Kishoreda in a musical show hosted by Caring Friends for our staff, we looked back on April 1st 2005 when we followed our hearts and made our dream of running an animal hospital, a reality. We feared stumbling blocks and making a fool of ourselves, but your support, prayers and efforts proved us wrong. From a small shed with few cages to treat animals, we went on to being the only full-fledged animal hospital for street and community animals in Thane. It was an uphill journey every step of the way – procuring water connection or electric connection, medical personnel and equipment’s.
And then when we thought we had done everything we could to serve our animals, we realized that the demand for better diagnostic facilities for animals had soared up. The caretaker community had come to realise that unowned animals deserved the same modern and compassionate treatment that is given to their owned counterparts. And why not? The same is applicable to human beings also. It was then that we took another decision to expand our services into another facility to improve access to upgraded facilities for our community animals. We worked through the year, and by 31st March 2025, our Annexe (now aptly named PGW – Peppy and Ginger Wing in the memory of two lovely pets) became functional. Once again after two decades, you showed us the miracle of love and the power of faith.
