“There are more life forms in a handful of forest soil than there are people on earth”

– Peter Wohlleben

Our organisation has always wanted to be associated with regeneration of forests.  Our small facility is surrounded by a garden and embellished by a small pool, which after so many years, supports different types of life form : small wild birds, lizards, frogs in monsoon as well as the occasional snake.

We know what variety of wildlife a full grown forest would be able to regenerate and support . The answer to our  quest was Miyawaki afforestation. The Miyawaki method involves planting a variety of native species close together to mimic a natural forest ecosystem to create dense, multilayered forests. Which when fully grown, are 30 times denser and grow 10 times faster than conventional forests.

In the month of June 2023, we partnered with Mriganko Chatterjee, passionate and knowledgeable about afforestation. 5 areas were shorlisted for the activity and our very own Miyawaki forests were planted, personally supervised by Mriganko. Thank you Mriganko for working pro bono with us.
